The purpose of the Montepeloso is to create wines with a Mediterranean and Italian character. The estate is known for its Toscana IGT blends from a variety of local Italian and French grape varieties. The flagship of the portfolio is Nardo.
Nardo 2000 is 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine spends 18 months aging in 40% new oak barrels and then nine months in bottle before release. Aromas of toasted vanilla, leather, blackberry, blackcurrant, cherry, licorice, tobacco, and cedar. Long, ripe, and concentrated, with a layered palate.
