Champagne Craft Wine Tasting
Champagne Craft Wine Tasting

Once upon a time, champagne was associated exclusively with loud parties. But if you look at Champagne long enough and intently, sooner or later, she will respond in kind. In fact, she already has: small growers—winemakers who craft their wines on their own estates—have convinced the world that champagne deserves much closer attention.

What changed? Fifty years ago, tiny producers in the region decided it was time to change the rules of the game. It was once the norm for them to sell their grapes to large houses, but some growers began fermenting and bottling the wine themselves, highlighting the terroir instead of contributing to the style of a major producer. This is how wines began to emerge as an extension of the vineyard itself—wines that one would want to keep in their collection. We’ll be discussing these at dinner.

And not just discussing—we’ll be tasting:

  • Champagne Larmandier-Bernier
  • Champagne Fleury
  • Champagne Cladestine
  • Champagne Mouzon-Leroux
  • Champagne Marc Hébrart
