The focus of Vinas Mora is firmly on the indigenous Babic grape and the vineyards of Primosten, a historic site recognized by UNESCO for its cultural landscape. The terroir here is extreme, shaped by Adriatic winds and sun-baked stone. Vines are shielded with rocks, and all vineyard work is done by hand. The house style can be described as natural wine. Kaamen is made from 100% Babic sourced from 60–80-year-old vines planted in top mountain sites. Aromas show tart red berries and herbal tones. On the palate it’s light, with above-average acidity and a peppery edge. Bottled unfiltered.
Vinas Mora is based on the Adriatic coast, between Šibenik and Split, in the tiny village of Primošten. This was never an easy place. Pure limestone rock, poor soil, people surviving on fishing and stubborn farming. Nothing really wanted to grow here — except Babic. Centuries ago locals realized that Babic could survive where everything else failed. Wine was traded for meat or wheat. Then, after the road was built in the 1970s, vineyards were abandoned. From roughly 250 hectares, only about 35 remained. The mission of Vinas Mora is simple and uncompromising: protect Babic and keep this terroir alive.
