The 1972 Mouton Rothschild is a rare gem in a connoisseur's collection. This vintage is hard enough to find. The wine captivates from the first aroma, revealing deep nuances of lead pencil, crème de cassis, porcini mushrooms, and grilled meat. It is embellished by well-integrated nuances of sandalwood and fenugreek, accompanied by subtle notes of dried roses, under-smoked cigars, and tilled soil. On the palate it is refined, subtle as a string. It exhibits a fine structure, characterized by silky, perfectly ripe tannins, with an easily integrated freshness and an exceptionally long finish bursting with earthy accents.
