Champagne Deutz Cuvee Amour De Deutz 2011

Vendor code : 109

The Deutz Champagne House is one of the world's top six champagne producers. ‘We have deliberately avoided the currently fashionable aging of wine in oak barrels, as oak makes the wine material rougher,’ says the house. All wines produced by Champagne House Deutz are sold in the same bottles in which they were aged. Regular non-millesime champagnes are aged for 30 months, while millesime wines are aged for five to eight years. Millesime Champagnes are remuaged exclusively by hand.

Amour de Deutz consists exclusively of the finest Chardonnay varieties. Aromas of citrus zest, white flowers, brioche and hazelnuts. Medium-bodied and sharp on the palate, with a chiselled fruit core, tangy acids and a pointy mousse, this is a vibrant wine that is a fine success.

Deutz, an illustrious Champagne house nestled in the charming village of Ay, shares its proximity with the renowned Bollinger. Established in the year 1838 and currently operating under the discreet ownership of Maison Louis Roederer, Deutz has been garnering widespread critical acclaim for its meticulously crafted range of Champagnes. This diverse portfolio encompasses their exceptional Classic range, extends to the rare and deluxe cuvées exemplified by William Deutz, and culminates in the ethereal Blanc de Blancs, Amour de Deutz, a gem reserved exclusively for the most exceptional vintages. The essence of Deutz's style is an exquisite fusion of elegance, finesse, and a profound vinous character. While these Champagnes can certainly be relished as delightful aperitifs, the vintage offerings truly come into their own when paired with gastronomic delights, particularly after aging gracefully in the bottle. Deutz takes a resolutely traditional approach to winemaking, with a primary emphasis on vinification within stainless steel vats. Interestingly, the use of oak is entirely eschewed, a deliberate choice aimed at accentuating the wines' intrinsic purity and invigorating freshness. To safeguard the wines' aromatic intricacies, the base wines undergo fermentation at controlled low temperatures, ensuring the preservation of their captivating aromas. Furthermore, a universal embrace of malolactic fermentation adds depth and complexity to all the wines within Deutz's portfolio. For instance, the Brut Classic NV, situated at one end of the spectrum, patiently matures on its lees for an impressive three years, while the cuvée William Deutz exemplifies even greater patience, spending an extraordinary 10 years on its lees. Deutz's rosé expressions is an artful blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, masterfully combined with a top-quality still Pinot Noir wine sourced from a unique vineyard plot. This meticulous approach, in contrast to the saignée method, is favored for its ability to uphold elegance and deliver consistent color brilliance, a testament to Deutz's unwavering commitment to excellence.
