In the historic, world-renowned village of Chassagne-Montrachet, located in the Côte de Beaune, lies Domaine Armand Heitz. Although the estate's history dates back to 1857, it is only in the last decade that it has truly established its unique identity. Armand Heitz red wines are known for their lightness and elegance. Originally, the estate's wines were labeled as Domaine Armand Heitz, while the cuvées made from purchased grapes were labeled simply as Armand Heitz. However, this name is now used for all of the domaine's wines.
Armand Heitz: "In my opinion, the Bourgogne Côte d'Or or Bourgogne Pinot Noir appellations impose unsustainable farming practices, whereas the Bourgogne Rouge appellation offers more flexibility." The estate's plots are located near some of the most prestigious vineyards of the Côte de Beaune, in the villages of Saint-Aubin, Meursault, and Pommard. The soil consists of clay-silt on marl. This red wine offers aromas of strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, and currant. It is medium-bodied, fresh, and juicy, with abundant red fruit on the palate and finishes with an earthy mineral note. A very "cozy" wine!
Respect for nature and minimizing environmental impact are fundamental principles not only in the vineyard but also in the winery. Armand Heitz firmly believes that wines should be allowed to develop with minimal intervention, resulting in a diverse portfolio of wines that showcase character and intensity, uniquely reflecting the terroir. Our selection of wines from Domaine Armand Heitz offers the perfect opportunity to experience the exceptional craftsmanship of this thriving estate.
