In our opinion and beyond, Nicole Lamarche remains one of the coolest winegrowers in Vosne-Romanee. The aroma shows hints of red cherry, orange, and yuzu combined with minerals. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with filigree tannins and impressive depth and grip. Perhaps a little more conservative than the Grands Echézeaux, but perhaps that means it will offer more after storage in a bottle.

The domaine produces 14 different wines on 11 hectares, including a monopoly plot of Grand Cru La Grande Rue. The cellar has changed its barrel utilisation regime, with a reduced proportion of new oak used each year and a change in the producers supplying barrels. Each cuvée undergoes an individual elevage, there is no formula, but the top wines always have a proportion of whole bunches, usually around 30%. If you want lots of red fruit, a soft and caressing texture, yet intensity, then you go straight to Lamarche.
