Ruinart is the world's oldest Champagne house. Ruinart is often called the "chardonnay house" for its pre-eminence of Chardonnay over Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Ruinart's style is characterized by an "elegant, full and generous taste," according to Michael Edwards, author of "The Finest Wines of Champagne."
Ruinart Brut Rose is typically 45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot, of which 18% is red wine, so following the assemblage, rather than the saignée method of rosé production. Brut Rose is a pretty, understated wine graced with notable class and finesse. This is a decidedly feminine, delicate style best suited to drinking as an aperitif. Sweet berries, flowers and spices are layered into the refined, well-articulated finish.
