Domaine de la Cras embraces a winemaking philosophy that emphasizes the most natural approach possible, with minimal use of sulfur. The domaine's white wines are shaped more by this philosophy than by the location or grape variety. The red wines of Domaine de la Cras stand out for their delicacy, moderate alcohol content, expressive aromatics, soft tannins, and pure fruit notes. The potential of the vineyards in the Dijon hills is undeniable, as is the exceptional talent of Marc Soyard.
A former disciple of Jean-Yves Bizot, Marc Soyard presents an intriguing Pinot with fine, silky tannins and juicy flavors. The aging process is perfectly balanced, lending the wine a delicate touch. Vinified with 100% whole-cluster fermentation and semi-carbonic maceration in used oak, this wine undergoes no filtration and no added sulfur (SO2).
Domaine de la Cras is an 8-hectare vineyard nestled in the rolling hills with a view of Dijon, the capital of Burgundy. At the upper part of the vineyard, the Cras cuvée is crafted from steeper slopes where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines are well-protected. Before becoming the official winemaker of Dijon, Marc Soyard spent six years at the renowned Domaine Bizot in Vosne-Romanée, where he worked as a vineyard manager. During this time, he refined his winemaking skills under the mentorship of Jean-Yves Bizot.
