The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Jachées is an impressive red Burgundy that bursts from the glass with aromas of wild berries, peonies, rose petals, bergamot, and warm spices, all skillfully framed by a subtle patina of new oak. Full-bodied, savory, and enveloping, it reveals a deep and layered fruity core.
Domaine Jean-Yves Bizot is an iconic and small-scale producer from the Côte de Nuits, with just under three hectares of vineyards—an exceptionally small size, even by Burgundy standards. Jean-Yves Bizot crafts wines in a distinctive style, including whole-cluster fermentation, exclusive use of new oak barrels, minimal sulfur, and extremely low yields. According to Bizot, this approach is essential for achieving concentration without heaviness. The wines are bottled directly from barrels, barrel by barrel, with a very low sulfur dosage and no filtration, meaning they require careful storage. Wines with the same label may vary from one another. In essence, Jean-Yves Bizot’s domaine has added a truly unique touch to the Côte de Nuits.
