Domaine Gauby

The wines of Domaine Gauby are among the most interesting and distinctive in Languedoc-Roussillon; their fashionable characteristics can satisfy both hedonism and the love of something new.

The domain is run by the talented Gerard and Lionel Gauby. Their new releases from their single vineyards showcase their unique characters.

The growing group of winegrowers from Languedoc-Roussillon are inspired by the example of regional leader Gerard Gauby, who is actively pursuing a program in his vineyards that, according to the vintners, allows them to produce expressive, ripe wines at significantly lower alcohol levels than were common in the region a decade ago.

Domaine Gauby grows several grape varieties: reds - Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carignan, whites - Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Viognier, and, unusually for the area, Chenin Blanc.

Some vines are over 120 years old. Cement and wooden vats are used for fermentation and the red wines are aged in old wooden barrels.

Domaine Gauby wines are highly rated by critics and wine hedonists. They often receive high marks for their purity, complexity, and ability to reflect the terroir of Roussillon.

The winery is a member of the Vin Nature Association, which confirms its commitment to natural methods of wine production.
