Le Macchiole
Scrio, Paleo, and Messorio are akin to the Formula 1 of wines—crafted to compete at the highest level with the finest Châteaux and renowned Super Tuscan producers.
Hedonists flock to Le Macchiole for its impeccable Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah. In the skilled hands of Le Macchiole, these noble varieties age gracefully, often surpassing 10-20 years in longevity.
Le Macchiole is deeply committed to the land, practicing organic farming across its vineyards. The key vineyards are:
- Puntone (2.8 hectares) – The soil, a mix of river stones and clay, provides ideal conditions for Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Merlot.
- Vignone (7.4 hectares) – This vineyard features diverse soils, primarily based on limestone, where Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Merlot thrive as they do in Puntone.
- Casanuova 1 (1.9 hectares) – Clay and sandstone soils are home to Cabernet Franc and Syrah.
- Casanuova 2 (1.5 hectares) – Similar to Casanuova 1, but with Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc planted here.
- Casanuova 3 (2 hectares) – A paradise for Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
- Sommi (7.5 hectares) – Sandy soils support Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot.
- Casavecchia (0.8 hectares) – Syrah is grown on rocky soils.
- Ulivino (2.7 hectares) – A combination of clay, limestone, and sand, where Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated.
