The Champagne Marc Hébrart Special Club 1er Cru 2020 Brut is a refined blend of 50% Pinot Noir from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, 15% Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru village of Louvois, and 35% Chardonnay from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Chouilly. It opens with vibrant aromas of lemon oil, lime, verbena, fresh herbs, and spring flowers, offering an expressive and layered bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, it combines a textured and structured profile with refreshing acidity. The delicate and charming mid-palate leads to a saline, tense, and ethereal finish, underscoring its precision and finesse. With a dosage of five grams per liter, this cuvée achieves a harmonious balance of richness and freshness. Drinking well from 2024 to 2040, it showcases Hébrart's commitment to terroir expression and meticulous craftsmanship, standing out as a remarkable example of the Special Club collection.

Champagne Marc Hébrart is a small grower-producer based in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, in the heart of the Champagne region. Founded in 1963, the domaine spans 14.5 hectares across 80 parcels in 11 villages, including prestigious Grand Cru sites in Aÿ, Avize, Oiry, and Chouilly, as well as Premier Cru vineyards in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Bisseuil, and Dizy. Known for its focus on terroir expression, Hébrart produces elegant Champagnes that combine balance, precision, and depth. The Champagne region, synonymous with luxury, celebration, and romance, is home to the world’s most prized sparkling wine. To carry the name "Champagne," a sparkling wine must originate from this northeastern French region and adhere to strict quality standards. Comprising the towns of Reims, Épernay, and Aÿ, the region is the birthplace of the traditional method of sparkling wine production—a technique that has shaped the flavor profile of sparkling wines worldwide. The region’s well-drained, limestone, and chalky soils impart a distinctive minerality to its wines, while its cold continental climate ensures high acidity in the grapes. Vintage Champagnes, like those crafted by Hébrart, reflect the unique characteristics of exceptional years, whereas non-vintage cuvées maintain consistency by blending wines from multiple years. Champagne is predominantly made from three grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Chardonnay adds freshness, elegance, and lively acidity, contributing citrus and floral notes. Pinot Noir provides structure, body, and red fruit flavors, lending to longevity, while Pinot Meunier adds early-drinking appeal with its soft fruitiness. Depending on the blend, Champagnes can range from blanc de blancs (100% Chardonnay) to blanc de noirs (100% red grapes) and rosés, the latter often crafted by blending white and red wines. Champagne Marc Hébrart's meticulous craftsmanship and focus on terroir-driven wines are evident across its range, from its multi-vintage cuvées to exceptional single-vintage offerings. These wines capture the essence of Champagne’s history, terroir, and traditional winemaking, delivering complexity, balance, and a connection to this celebrated region.
