Domaine Hudelot Noellat Chambolle Musigny 2022

Vendor code : 1277

Charles Van Canneyt has released an impressive series of 2022 wines. The Domaine found renewed energy after Van Canneyt took over its management. While the wines of the 1990s were enjoyable, they were somewhat rough around the edges. Now, they exhibit greater finesse and complexity, with more purity of fruit and expression of terroir, as one would expect from such an enviable collection of Premier and Grand Crus. Being affiliated with Domaine Hudelot Noëllat is truly a great fortune.

Domaine Hudelot Noellat Chambolle Musigny 2022 is crafted from a 0.85-hectare plot, with a production of only 2,000 bottles. The wine was aged for 16 months in oak barrels, 20% of which were new. The hand-harvested grapes, wild yeast fermentation, and limited production showcase a fine example of top Pinot Noir. Chambolle Musigny 2022 opens with aromas of raspberries, red flowers, and juicy cherries. On the palate, it is fresh, detailed, and slightly austere. It is recommended to drink between 2028 and 2033.

Domaine Hudelot Noëllat Chambolle-Musigny comprises 11 individual parcels of Pinot Noir, with different exposures, totaling 0.85 hectares on limestone soils in Chambolle-Musigny. The average age of the vines is around 60 years. Pinot Noir from this commune is considered one of the softest, most elegant, and meditative in the entire Côte d'Or. The wine's elegance and purity are also due to the personal approach of Charles Van Canneyt, who has been managing the estate for over a decade. His style has crystallized over time, with grapes fermented in cement tanks through classic maceration for two to three weeks. Aging takes place in barrels, primarily from Cavin and Cadus, for 18 months, except for the Bourgogne Rouge, which is bottled before the next vintage. These methods, combined with the unique palette of appellations and very old vines, result in elegant, charming wines with impressive depth and aging potential.
