1994. Jean-Marie Fourrier takes over Domaine Fourrier at just 23. Behind him — experience with Henri Jayer and Domaine Drouhin; ahead — work with family vineyards where the focus shifts firmly to the source. Vines aged 30 years and older, no herbicides, precise parcel-by-parcel work — everything begins in the vineyard.

Today, Domaine Fourrier stands as one of the benchmarks of Burgundy. Just 9 hectares across Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny, including holdings at Grand Cru level. Key parcels include significant sections of Clos Saint-Jacques and Combe Aux Moines, as well as a small but important holding in Griotte-Chambertin, where vines date back to the early 1900s.

The cellar approach is minimal. Native yeasts, gravity instead of pumping, limited use of new oak. The objective is not to shape the wine, but to preserve what comes from the vineyard. Fourrier wines are defined by clarity, precision and energy — a direct expression of terroir without excess weight. This approach has made the domaine highly sought after among collectors worldwide.
