Les Beurys en Maceration 2017 is a rose from Pinot Noir sourced from the single vineyard Les Beurys in Ambonnay. It reflects a specific terroir: east-facing exposure, around 35 cm of topsoil over chalk, with vines averaging 42 years of age. Maceration lasts 2 days, followed by vinification in small oak barrels. No malolactic fermentation is carried out, and there is no cold stabilization or filtration. The wine spends around 5 years on lees and a further year in bottle after disgorgement in the estate cellars. Dosage is 2 g/L. The style is terroir-driven, focused on a precise expression of origin.

The story behind the label of Champagne Eric Rodez Les Beurys Maceration Pinot Noir Rose 2017 is closely tied to the idea of a vintage wine: a single harvest expressing the character of its year without blending across vintages. Under the regulations of Champagne, such wines must be aged on lees for a minimum of 36 months, though in practice producers often extend this period to further define the vintage. The name Les Beurys refers to the historical toponymy of Ambonnay, where many vineyard names preserve traces of Celtic and Latin origins. The ending *-ys* is considered atypical and may reflect a local dialect feature. The word “Beury” itself likely derives either from the Gallic *brogilos* (“small woodland”) or from a variation of *bruyères* (“heather”), pointing to the natural character of the site.
