Domaine Albert Morot is one of the leading producers in the Côte de Beaune. Founded by Albert Morot in 1820, the estate remains family-managed. The domaine covers just under 8 hectares of vineyards, spread across seven Beaune Premier Cru plots: Les Teurons, Les Grèves, Les Toussaints, Les Bressandes, Les Cent Vignes, Les Marconnets, and La Bataillère. The vines are notably old, with an average age of around 45 years, and the yields are exceptionally low.
Situated on the hillside next to the larger and better-known Grèves, Bressandes, and Cent Vignes vineyards, the 2015 Beaune Toussaints wine performs impressively. The aroma reveals notes of blackberry, cassis, and smoked meat. On the palate, it unfolds with flavors of salty black fruits, leather, and smoked meat. Choppin de Janvry notes that the acidity of the fresh fruit is almost always particularly pronounced in this wine.
Albert Morot is a family-run winery located in the central Burgundy town of Beaune, specializing in producing several local labels, including a variety of premier cru wines from Beaune and nearby villages. The estate covers eight hectares of vineyards, with plots in seven Premier Cru climats in Beaune. These include their flagship vineyard, Les Bressandes, along with Les Teurons, Les Toussaints, Les Grèves, Les Cent Vignes, Les Aigrots, and Les Marconnets. In addition, Albert Morot owns a monopole premier cru vineyard, La Bataillère, which is a 1.87-hectare section of the Les Vergelesses vineyard in Savigny-lès-Beaune. Initially planted entirely with Pinot Noir, Morot added 0.67 hectares (1.65 acres) of Chardonnay in 2013. The estate also produces a village-level Pommard wine from a small plot in the La Rue au Port climat, located east of Pommard village.
