Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes 2022 originates from a 0.67-hectare parcel planted in 1940, situated between Chapelle-Chambertin and Clos-Prieur. The brown soil features grey limestone and volcanic elements, contributing to the site’s expression. The vineyard was harvested later, following Fourrier’s emphasis on extended hang time to achieve full physiological maturity. The vinification combined full destemming with a proportion of carefully selected stems returned to the vats. Élevage involved approximately 15% new oak from Tonnellerie Cadus, supplemented by amphorae and stainless steel to preserve freshness and structural integrity. The wine shows a refined aromatic profile with cherry preserve, ripe red plum, crushed strawberry and subtle gravel minerality. It presents a medium to full body with a supple texture, Morello cherry and crisp acidity leading to a precise, piquant finish. The tannins are fine and integrated, supporting a clear expression of site and vintage. Critics have awarded the wine 92–95 points.

Fourrier's 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes reveals aromas of cherry preserve and ripe red plums, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and front-loaded palate that's laden with sweet, sun-kissed fruit.

Vinous
The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Cherbaudes 1er Cru has an understated bouquet that gradually unfurls in the glass with mainly red fruit, briar and light gravel-like scents. Not powerful, but nicely detailed. The palate is medium-bodied with Morello cherry and crushed strawberry, silky-smooth, with a crisp line of acidity and a piquant finish.
