Domaine Armand Heitz

Domaine Armand Heitz is one of the most dynamic and thoughtful estates in modern Burgundy. Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, the domaine was relaunched in 2012 when Armand Heitz took over family vineyards previously leased to others for decades. With a clear vision rooted in sustainability, terroir expression, and innovation, he has quickly established the estate as a rising name to watch.

The vineyards span some of Burgundy’s most prestigious terroirs — including Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault, Pommard, and Volnay — along with lesser-known but promising sites in the Côte Chalonnaise and Beaujolais. Armand farms organically and is committed to regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, and minimal soil disturbance. His aim is not only to produce fine wine but to cultivate a healthy ecosystem that supports long-term vineyard vitality.

In the cellar, the approach is equally precise. Fermentation relies on native yeasts, and intervention is kept to a minimum. Whites are pressed gently and aged on the lees without heavy bâtonnage, retaining freshness and texture. Reds are vinified with whole cluster inclusion depending on vintage, and oak is used judiciously to highlight, not mask, the character of each cru.

The resulting wines are elegant yet vivid, combining purity with energy. Signature whites like Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot and Meursault “Les Dressolles” show clarity and mineral drive, while reds such as Pommard “Clos des Poutures” and Volnay “Les Gigottes” reveal finesse, structure, and aromatic lift.

Beyond Burgundy, Armand Heitz has also embraced polyculture, producing herbal infusions, honey, and vegetables — integrating agriculture into a broader sustainability project. This holistic view of land stewardship reflects a new generation’s perspective: ambitious but grounded, innovative but respectful of tradition.

Domaine Armand Heitz represents a fresh voice in Burgundy — one that bridges the classical and the contemporary with confidence and care.
